We wear the effects of time on our faces. But we don’t necessarily have to accept that wear and tear without doing something about it. Practically all of the ‘anti-wrinkle’ creams and serums available are full of chemicals that I don’t want to put on my face. Plus they’re so expensive! So I’ve been collecting some wonderful, exotic oils to create an amazingly moisturizing facial serum to combat the dryness, fine lines, and all the lovely things that come with age. Something to moisturize and nourish my skin. After a lot of research, I created this About Face Facial Serum.
About Face Facial Serum ingredients and beneficial properties
There are so many wonderful oils in this serum, and they all have their own beneficial properties. I’m loving this. My skin feels so good.
Jojoba oil is the closest to our own skin of any of the oils out there, so it’s a good place to start. To that I added squalane oil (made from olives), an incredibly nutritious oil perfect for aging skin.
Macadamia nut oil also has a chemical profile very similar to that of human sebum. It’s rich in essential fatty acids and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin. It contains palmitoleic and oleic acid, the perfect choice for mature or dry skin. And the linoleic fatty acid content helps your skin retain moisture. Meadowfoam oil provides a barrier to lock in skin’s natural moisture to help prevent dryness and soften the skin. Rosehips seed oil works on a deep level to revive the skin’s elasticity with vitamin C and lycopene.
Borage seed oil is known to be a luxury oil for all its rich essential fatty acid content that is extremely moisturizing. Evening primrose oil is excellent for the overall health of the skin. Not only is it a great moisturizer while softening the skin, but it also supplies essential nutrients and healthy fats. The bottom line is that it helps your skin look more youthful and flawless.
Here are a few more
Argan oil is one of those superfoods for your skin. It’s rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, linoleic acids, and essential omega fatty acids. It moisturizes your skin without clogging your pores. A little Vitamin E oil for all its benefits along with essential oils of geranium, frankincense, Bulgarian Lavender and carrot seed finish off the serum. These each with their own beneficial properties (check them out!). Plus they make it smell nice.
Ingredients: Jojoba oil, Squalane oil, Macadamia nut oil, Rosehips seed oil, Meadowfoam oil, Borage seed oil, Argan oil, Evening primrose oil, Vitamin E oil, and Essential oils of Geranium, Frankincense, Bulgarian Lavender, and Carrot seed.
Directions for use
Note: Be sure and check all the ingredients for allergies.
To use, remove any makeup and cleanse your face. If you use a toner, do that next. Then apply 2-3 drops of the serum in an upward motion. A little goes a long way… just put on enough to give your skin a sheen, not to feel oily. It can also be applied under makeup.
