We wear the effects of time on our faces. But we don’t necessarily have to accept that wear and tear without doing something about it. Practically all of the ‘anti-wrinkle’ creams and serums available are full of chemicals that I don’t want to put on my face. Plus they’re so expensive! So I’ve been collecting some wonderful, exotic oils to create an amazingly moisturizing facial serum to combat the dryness, fine lines, and wrinkles that come with age. Something to moisturize, firm, and nourish.
There are so many wonderful oils in this serum, and they all have their own beneficial properties:
Jojoba oil is the closest to our own skin of any of the oils out there, so it’s a good place to start. To that, squalane oil (made from olives) is added. This is found naturally in our skin and is one thing that keeps our skin’s elasticity and hydration in check as well as cell function. The inclusion of squalane helps to replenish our skin.
Macadamia nut oil also has a chemical profile very similar to that of human sebum. It’s rich in essential fatty acids and has a non greasy, feel on the skin. It contains palmitoleic and oleic acid that make it the perfect choice for mature or dry skin and the linoleic fatty acid content helps your skin retain moisture. Meadowfoam oil provides a barrier to lock in skin’s natural moisture to help prevent dryness and soften the skin. Rosehips seed oil works on a cellular level to rejuvenate the skin with vitamin C and lycopene, repairing the skin’s surface to restore elasticity.
Borage seed oil is known to be a luxury oil for all its rich essential fatty acid content that helps promote cell regeneration, and is firming and moisturizing. Evening primrose oil is excellent for the overall health of the skin. Not only is it a great moisturizer while softening the skin, but it also supplies essential nutrients and healthy fats, helping your skin look more youthful and flawless.
Argan oil is one of those superfoods for your skin. It’s rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, linoleic acids, and essential omega fatty acids and hydrates your skin without clogging your pores. And the the antioxidants are excellent for helping to heal irritated or damaged skin, preventing oxidative damage from free radicals and UV radiation. A little Vitamin E oil for all its benefits along with essential oils of geranium, frankincense, Bulgarian Lavender and carrot seed finish off the serum, each with their own beneficial properties. Plus they make it smell nice.
I’m loving this. My skin feels so good.
To use, remove any makeup and cleanse your face. If you use a toner, do that next. Then apply 2-3 drops of the serum in an upward motion, before using any moisturizer. It can also be applied under makeup.
Be sure and check all the ingredients for allergies.
