Description
One of Santa Barbara’s treasures is the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, where you’ll find a vast multitude of flora and plant environments. There are many garden sections and displays to experience, including the Redwood Grove, Campbell Trail and Bridge, the Desert Section, the Teahouse Garden and the Woodland Trail, just to name a few.
The photo shown is of The Meadow, which is to the right as you enter the garden. In the spring, the meadow is lush with lupine and poppies, as shown here.
Not to be missed is the Mission Dam and Aqueduct, constructed in 1806-1807 by the Chumash Indians under the direction of the Franciscan padres to help supply the Santa Barbara Mission with a reliable source of water.
